6 reasons to choose our green warehouse

Looking for ways to improve your green credentials? Want to join the sustainable warehouse movement?

You’re not alone.

More and more companies are reconsidering every aspect of their supply chains and shifting towards greener logistics to reduce carbon emissions, waste generation, and resource use.

Green warehousing makes it easier for businesses to preserve the environment while increasing their profit margins.

But what can you do to prevent the negative environmental impact of your business operations?

Here, the team at John K. Philips explore the benefits of storing your goods at our green warehouse in North West England.

1.     Accessibility

Will your goods be travelling into or out of the UK via major freight links, such as Manchester Airport or the Port of Liverpool?

Our green warehouse is strategically located off the M62 in Westbrook, Warrington – approximately 17 miles away from Liverpool and 21 miles away from Manchester.

With excellent links to road, rail, air, and sea transportation, our state-of-the-art storage facility in the North West is easily accessible and can help minimise fuel costs and carbon emissions.

2.     Green certification

At John K. Philips, we’re committed to following energy-efficient practices – promoting efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

As a result, we have achieved an EPC rating of A+, as well as an “Excellent” BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) score.

When you opt for sustainable storage and distribution at our green warehouse, we’ll ensure your items are handled in the safest, most eco-friendly and efficient way possible.

3.     Energy efficiency

Our green storage facility in Warrington has LED (light emitting diode) lighting installed throughout.

LED lights use less energy than conventional lighting and emit fewer greenhouse gases. They also last up to 20 times longer than compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and halogen bulbs – reducing the need for regular replacements.

Solar panels cover 85% of the roof area of our zero-emissions building, generating an extra 700kVA of power every year. This makes our facility more environmentally friendly and helps to reduce our carbon footprint.

4.     EV charging

We know that more businesses are opting for fuel-efficient vehicles and low-emission transportation to transport their goods from A to B in a more sustainable way – and who can blame them?

Electric vehicles (EVs) can save money on fuel costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They have fewer parts which means they don’t need anywhere near as much maintenance or repair work as petrol and diesel cars, vans, and trucks!

Outside our green warehouse, we have 20 EV charging points, allowing you to charge your electric truck or van for the journey ahead.

5.     Waste recycling

We’re all about working towards a more sustainable future, here at John K. Philips. Our green warehouse makes it easier for everyone to meet their environmental commitments by moving away from traditional practices.

We implement a zero-to-landfill waste management policy, reducing the amount of waste that ends up in the landfill and pollutes the environment.

Digital systems monitor the movement of goods and deliveries, cutting down on paper processes and waste.

6.     Integrated logistics solutions

Whether you need barcoded storage, accurate inventory management, pick-and-pack, or trackable delivery services, you’re in capable hands at our green storage facility.

We provide integrated green logistics solutions to suit businesses of all sizes from various sectors and are confident we can improve your operations.

Cutting-edge processes make it easy to ensure digital documents are kept up to date at all times while real-time tracking enables you to trace your goods whenever you need to. You can even follow deliveries once dispatched from our green warehouse!
